Step One Soldiers

A New Beginning

A Message of Hope from the Step One Community

Looking back on my own journey through mental health and addiction challenges, it almost feels like I’m talking about a past life. I made countless mistakes—not only in the way I was living but also in how I approached healing, recovery, relationships, and life itself.

Today, I’m incredibly grateful for the people who supported me along the path to finding freedom and creating a new way of life that feels authentic and fulfilling.

If you’re reading this because you’re seeking change, I want you to know: there is hope.

At Step One, we are a community of people who know what it’s like to struggle. We’ve been there, and through our own direct experience, we’ve learned that recovery is possible. No matter how big the challenges, we believe that by walking this path together, we can—and do—recover.

I remember during my fourth time in rehab, there was a quote on the wall that stuck with me:

“The best way to find recovery is to create a life in which you dont want to go back to the old one.”

That simple truth is the foundation of Step One. In my own journey, things became very complicated before they got simple. Here at Step One, we are committed to being a safe, supportive space where you can build a firm foundation for your recovery and your life.

We encourage you to reach out, ask questions, and take that first step. We meet weekly—both in-person and over Zoom—and offer:

• A welcoming, inclusive community for people from all walks of life.

• The 90-Day Step One Soldier Program, tailored to meet your unique needs.

• Opportunities to contribute to something greater than yourself, a key part of building a life worth living.

You don’t have to do this alone. We’re here to support you, every step of the way

Meditation

May you be the heart of the community, where all who gather find a sense of belonging and connection. In your presence, may differences dissolve and common ground emerge, as you remind each person that they are not alone in their struggles or joys. May you offer your compassion freely, creating a space where every voice is heard, every pain is acknowledged, and every joy is celebrated. Through your service, may the bonds of community be strengthened, showing that together, we are more than the sum of our parts—woven into a single fabric of love, support, and shared purpose.
